Full HDMI Compatibility

The Denon AVR-990P is a complete HDMI control center, offering one-cable connection to and from your HD sources, including HDTV and Blu-ray disc player.

7-Channel Discrete Mono Amp

Discrete amp construction for each of the receiver's seven channels ensures that it delivers more precise sound reproduction.

Clock Jitter Reducer

This feature suppresses fluctuations on the clock waveform to remove distortion from the digital audio signal and minimize adverse influences on sound quality.

High Bit i/p Converter and Scaler

The AVR-990P uses a high-performance Anchor Bay VRS video upscaler to convert SD (standard definition) video material to HD (high definition) quality. The result is that 480i/480p SD video signals of DVD programs and other material are converted to HD video and output to the HDMI port.

Network Capability

The receiver's network capability via its built-in Ethernet port makes it possible to enjoy Internet radio stations as well as audio and photo streaming from your PC.

5 HDMI Inputs

The availability of five HDMI inputs means that your current HD gear can easily be connected to the Denon A/V receiver. There's also enough room for any additional HD components you may acquire in the future.

Graphical User Interface

The AVR-990P is equipped with an easy-to-view Graphical User Interface (GUI) featuring visual menu displays, which can also be output to your monitor over HDMI.

Digital Noise Reduction

A video digital noise reduction circuit is designed to optimize picture quality for both SD and HD content.

Party Mode

By using the Party Mode, you can supply the same music to up to five rooms at the same time among Denon Party Mode compliant products on the network.

PC Setup Via Ethernet (Web Control)

You can control the AVR-990P over the Web by entering the unit's IP address into your browser. It's a convenient way to setup and control the many functions of the receiver.

Dolby Pro Logic IIz

With the introduction of a pair of front height channels, Dolby Pro Logic IIz brought a new dimension to home theater entertainment. Compatible with stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 content, IIz provides enhanced spaciousness, depth, and dimension to movies, concert videos, and video game playback.

Compressed Audio Restorer

You can use this mode to expand the low and high frequency components of your music and achieve a richer sound.

iPod Control

With a compatible Denon control dock, you can play images and music from your iPod using either the receiver's Graphical User Interface or the iPod's screen.

Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Decoders

These lossless high-definition audio technologies enable the receiver to faithfully reproduce the sound of the studio master recording, ensuring that you hear only what the artist intended.

HD Radio

The built-in HD radio brings a new level of sound purity to free broadcasts. With HD, AM radio sounds like FM, while FM sounds like CD.

USB Audio and Photo Playback

Using the front-panel USB port, you can play music from a USB device, or view photos (either singly or as slideshows) stored as JPEG files.

Sirius Satellite Radio Ready

With a compatible Sirius radio tuner and a subscription to the service, you can listen to commercial-free content through the AVR-900P and control it via the remote control.

2-Source/2-Zone Capability

This function allows you to play sound in rooms other than the main zone where multi-channel sound is played. There are two methods to do this: zone playback by speaker output; and zone playback by audio output.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume

To enable real-time volume adjustment, Audyssey Dynamic Volume constantly monitors the sound sources and adjusts the volume to the optimum level for the particular source being heard without sacrificing dynamic range. It solves the problem of large variations in volume level between television programs, commercials, and between the soft and loud passages of movies.

Audyssey Dynamic EQ

This function solves the problem of deteriorating sound quality as volume is decreased by taking into account human perception and room acoustics. It works in tandem with Audyssey MultEQ to provide well-balanced sound for every listener at any volume level.

Audyssey MultEQ Auto Setup

This room equalization solution calibrates any audio system so that it can achieve optimum performance for every listener in a large listening area. MultEQ calculates an equalization solution that corrects for both time and frequency response problems in the listening area and also performs a fully automated surround system setup.

2-Line Fluorescent Display

The AVR-990P's two-line fluorescent display shows input source name, surround mode, setting values, and other information.
