Customer Reviews
Features
  • For Select NEX-Series Cameras
  • Compatible with Sony P-TTL
  • Guide Number: 66' at ISO 100 and 35mm
  • Coverage: 10mm, 16mm, & 35mm (APS-C)

Compatible with select NEX-series cameras with the Smart Accessory Terminal, the HVL-F20S Flash from Sony provides a guide number of 66' at ISO 100 and 35mm on APS-C cameras, which is a much higher output compared to the built-in flash. This unit also works with Sony's P-TTL automatic flash exposure system and has options for covering 10mm, 16mm, and 35mm focal lengths on APS-C cameras, equivalent to 15mm, 24mm, and 50mm on full frame. Another benefit of this flash is the ability to tilt upwards 75° and utilize bounce for a softer, more diffused light.

Another feature of the flash is slow synchronization for flash during a long exposure for balanced lighting in your final image. The HVL-F20S will recycle in 0.1 to 5 seconds for repeated flashes and conveniently runs off power supplied by the camera body, so there is no need for extra batteries. The on/off setting is also simplified by simply raising and lowering the flash. And, it comes with a wide panel, a terminal protector cap, and a carrying pouch.

Compatibility

Sony NEX-3, NEX-5, NEX-5R, NEX-C3, NEX-5N, NEX-5R, and NEX-F3 Mirrorless Digital Cameras
Not compatible with cameras featuring the older Sony/Minolta style Auto-Lock Accessory Shoe or the newer Sony Multi Interface Shoe
