Details: The Leica Super-Elmar-M 18 mm f/3.8 ASPH. is a relatively small, compact wideangle lens for Leica's M-series digital rangefinder cameras. Although it isn't the fastest lens in Leica's lineup, its wide field of view means that it can safely be shot at shutter speeds as low as 1/20sec, with static subjects. Even shot wide-open, the Super-Elmar-M 18mm offers a depth of field stretching from roughly 4 feet to infinity, making it ideal for candid street photography as well as sweeping landscapes. Distortion is minimal, and optical construction comprises eight elements in seven groups. 77mm filters can be added, via the dedicated lens hood.
