A New Class Offering For Summer 2015 - Basic Digital Photography Class for Teens Ages 12-18!
In this Basic Digital Photography for Teens class, students will get instruction on the proper use of their digital camera to capture their unique world and surroundings. Emphasis will be placed on capturing images while practicing sound photo techniques. Using their camera to interpret the world around them, students will learn and work toward mastering camera settings, metering modes and white balance for proper exposures.
Over four classes in four weeks, students will be given exercises to photograph the major genres of photography, including portraiture, landscape, action/still life and finally shooting in black-and-white. Students will be given examples of how photographers have approached these genres, and projects will be assigned using the methods learned. Weekly critique and feedback will offer guidance for each student as they move toward mastering their camera and improving their photography.
The idea behind this class is to have students learn how to use their digital camera with predictable and repeatable results while having fun in the process, and to begin to communicate through photography instead of just taking snapshots. This class is open to students ages 12-18 who own either a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera or a point & shoot camera with a manual setting.
1 Session - Thursday July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM in the back of our store - Cost for the 4 session class is only $25.00! Each class is limited to 15 participants and if you buy a camera for the child for this class, the class is free.
